Let your process suck

You’ve got to be willing to let your process suck as you start out. From the mistakes you learn the crucial lessons you need to master your craft.

In today’s episode of The Aisling and Richie Podcast we talk about the exciting updates from Richie’s tour and the things that just plain suck.

Richie recently released his debut album Odyssey which you can get here and here

There’s a process to everything in life and you have to go with it. When Richie first tried to record his album himself it was absolutely awful. Richie poured a lot of his money into the creation of his debut album and eventually hired Grammy Award winning producer David Odlum to produce “Odyssey” which is finally released after many years in the making.

At every stage of your journey you’re brought to a crossroads. Will you take the safe road or will you leap in the direction of your dreams. I heard this question about choosing your dreams in a recent interview with David Bach on Marie TV and it gave me the extra fire to take the leap with my work.

When you follow your dreams there isn’t a map and you’ve got to figure out a way to make a living from doing what you love. It’s a process that takes time and lots of trial and error.

This is the journey Richie and I are on. I hope that this inspires you to follow your dreams and be willing for things to suck as you grow and evolve to the next level of what you’re doing.

Let us know in the comments below what process are you willing to let suck so you can get good at it?

Today’s podcast episode is an exercise inspired by my mentor Marie Forleo about going pro.

I asked Richie’s 3 amateur habits he’s ready to let go of and I share my 3 amateur habits I’m ready to let go of.

To replace these old amateur habits we shared the 3 Going Pro habits we are now committing to living.

This is a great exercise to do when you’re about to embark on a new journey. Ask yourself what habits you want to let go and what new habits you want to live to express your greatest potential.

We’d love to hear from you, what 3 amateur habits are you ready to let go of and what 3 Going Pro habits can you now put in place to take your life, health, business to the next level. Share in the comments below!

On today’s Episode 15 “Focus on staying in your own lane without the comparison trap”

The main highlights from today’s episode are:

  • Concentrate on where you are in your journey.

  • Understand that everyone is at different stages in their journey - levels of skills, levels of networking, levels of support through your community and team.

  • When you fall into the comparison trap (we all do with social media) by looking at others and thinking I should be doing XYZ. This feeds into doubt, insecurity and robs you off your creative power.

  • Stay focused on developing yourself and mastering what is in front of you. Appreciate where you are now. Trust in the greater opportunities that are available to you in the right timing.

  • Take inspired action and following through on what matters to you.

  • Stay inspired by people you follow but always know that you are on your own unique journey and need to keep focused on mastering YOU.

What is your biggest insight from today’s episode? What action can you put in place right away? Share in the comments below!
