Treacy O’Connor - The Connector

Treacy O’Connor - The Connector

Back in 2012 my Mum and I went on this weekend retreat by a group called Awaken Ireland at the Boghill centre in County Clare. The intention of the weekend was to gather to create a new vision for Ireland.

During that weekend I made some very special connections one of them with Treacy O’Connor who often hosted myself and my Mum on our many trips to Dublin for The Girl Against Fluoride campaign.

My connection with Treacy deepened last year when she played a very special role in helping both my Mum and I in her transition in the hospital and holding my Mum’s final goodbye ceremony in the crematorium.

I was delighted to sit down with Treacy for this week’s podcast episode to share with you her bright light as one the powerful vision holders of Ireland.

Treacy is an Interfaith Minister, co-founder of Corporate Wellness Ireland and runs weekly meditation and mindfulness classes. Her key role in my Mum’s passing coincided with her receiving the message to bring joy to death like we bring joy to birth. It’s a transition from being in a body to being released from your body.

Celebrating their life and journey while honouring the grief is Treacy’s intention and she creating this beautifully in my Mum’s final ceremony. She had arranged for the song I Have a Dream by ABBA to be printed on paper so everyone could sing my Mum off to the song that she had chosen to pass away with despite being unconscious at the time. This showed us certain signs and messages that demonstrate a person can still communicate with us even when they’ve passed.

My Mum, Martha’s funeral was a joyful celebration of her and this was helped by having Treacy hold that space for us all as were in the depths of grief having lost the Martha we knew and loved.

Treacy was ordained an Interfaith Minister back in 2017. This ties us back to when we first met in 2012 and shared the highest intention of coming up with a better future for Ireland.

Following that powerful weekend in March of 2012 we all had to go on our individual journey’s to clear our fear. We had come together with the fire of anger at what was wrong with the system. Now we are creating what we do want. Focusing on where we want to be we have to go on our individual journey of an internal shift and coming back to unconditional love, honouring and accepting where people are at.

The core ability to want to grow and evolve together. Embracing, collaborating and going into corporate spaces to share our wisdom on wellbeing.

One of the keys to be and move from fear to trust?

Mindfulness and presence. Being the centre of your own storm like the inside of a shell. It requires dedication and commitment. Do it because you feel the benefits and you know it’s going to have a positive impact on your life.

Up to recently to focus has been put outside ourself. It’s important to have community but no had over your power to it.

Treacy focuses on honouring peoples life transitions in her work as an Interfaith Minister. Her ceremonies honour the strength we hold in all the challenges we’ve overcome, how we’ve broke through them and gives permission to love through the transition with joy. She believes that like flowers and plants, we grow when we’re given the right conditions to bloom.

Vision for the future?

Treacy is very much led by the present and what’s bubbling up. Her vision is a collective vision about everyone and where we’re going together.

Corporate Wellness Ireland growing from one service to seminars, half day and full day workshops and Leadership, Management and reorganising structures. Sharing the model of Corporate Wellness Ireland with others.

Sacred sites, myths and legends. Treacy is creating a tourism business to facilitate the journey of discovery through the sacred sites as key initiates from birth to possibility with music and storytelling.

Treacy is also involved with an initiative for societal transformation and is focusing on bringing together in unity other wonderful initiative happening in Ireland to see what they can do to hospice the old and midwife the new.

Treacy’s vision of the future is bright and hopeful. It’s time to work together in unity and partnership to bring it about.
