How To Potty Train Your Baby From Birth

Posted in

In this episode 1 in the Elimination Communication Series we share how you can start using the potty with your baby from birth.

Elimination Communication known as EC, is a practice of responding to your baby’s natural cues and rhythms for eliminating pee and poo and offering the potty or a sink to go instead of training them to use the nappy as a toilet.

Like all mammals, babys have a natural instinct to not want to soil their environment or caregiver so with EC you are learning to work in harmony with this natural instinct.

The potty is the toilet and the nappy is a back up tool until they gain independence usually from 9-18 months.

Practicing EC with Rían from birth was one of the best decisions I made as a Mother.

  • It helped me build my inner knowing and Mama instincts
  • Strengthens our Motherbaby bond
  • Healthiest way to respond to his hygiene needs and avoids using conventional nappies that are filled with toxic chemicals and going to landfill.
  • Saved so much money on nappies, washing and changing clothes.

Rían never once had a nappy rash and never needed to use any nappy creams as his skin was healthy as wasn’t sitting in pee + poo combination that burns the skin.

The benefits of EC are endless and it makes wrapping up potty training a natural transition as they have been learning the skills from birth. It’s a win, win, win for Mama and Dada, Baby and the Earth.

Want to learn more about EC to get prepared for when your baby arrives?

I highly recommend getting prepared before you get pregnant.
